HICE Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Fee Bursary Projects

Application Process

Eligibility: Children aged between 12 and 18 (including those aged 19 or above who are still enrolled in secondary education) who reside in Hamamatsu and fulfill one of the following criteria:

1.Children of foreign nationalities
2.Children of Japanese nationality but one parent is of a foreign nationality
3.Children of Japanese nationality but one parent was of a foreign nationality
4.Those deemed to be eligible due to their requirement for Japanese language support

Conditions: Children enrolled at one of the following educational institutions:

1. Children enrolled in educational institutions* listed in Article 1 of the School Education Law
2. Children enrolled in foreign schools* in Hamamatsu
3. Children enrolled in local Japanese language classes* in Hamamatsu.

*only those facilities specified in the HICE Japanese Language Proficiency Test Examination Fee Bursary Project Implementation Guidelines are eligible.

How to Apply: Please fill in the application form on the Hamamatsu Intercultural Portal Site. A guardian’s permission is required when applying.  

※Applications require a JPLT score report, a copy of your results certificate, a copy of your student ID, and a copy of the applicant’s bank book with their name visible.  ※ We may contact the applicant’s enrolled educational institution to clarify any questions regarding their application
