We held the event “KOREKARA Buddy Let’s go out with our friends from across the world!” on May 29 (Sun).
The KOREKARA Buddy project is jointly organised with the JICA Hamamatsu Desk, with the aim of encouraging foreigners living in Japan and Japanese people to do fun things together as buddies, rather than the formal relationship as supporters and supported.
On the day of the events, we had a total of 49 participant with 31 participants from all over the world including Indonesia, Brazil, Philippines, Peru, China, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Ireland. Together, we visited the Takazuka Kumano Shrine and the Suzuki Histroy Museum. The participants took part in the 950th Festival of the Takazuka Kumano Shrine and got to try hitting the Big Taiko Drums while wearing Happi Coats.
The KOREKARA Buddy project is still in its early stages and trial phases but, we hope to make use of the experience of the volunteers and have the participant feel glad that they came to Hamamatsu and that it was fun being together with so many people from different countries. That is the hope we have for this project.
