In early May, 6 students from the Research Department of Shizuoka Prefectural Hamamatsu Commercial High School came to the Intercultural Center to see if there was anything that high-school students could do to help promote interculturalism. They listened intently and were equipped with question after question, with a particular interest in the screens comparing the demographics and status of residences between Hamamatsu and other cities in Japan.
3 weeks after their visit, they came back once again armed with “Plain Japanese Quiz” posters – filled with things they want Japanese people to know! If you’re nearby, why don’t you come along and give the quiz a go?
They were then seen reading fervently in the HICE library corner – assumedly continuing research of some kind…they definitely have the spirit of research! We here at HICE will continue to support their endeavours.
